✍️ The Design: The flag of The Bahamas is a bold and beautiful reflection of the nation’s stunning natural environment and the strength of its people. Adopted in 1973 upon gaining independence, its design is as powerful as it is striking.

The two horizontal aquamarine stripes represent the crystal-clear waters of the Caribbean Sea that surround the country’s 700 islands and cays. The central gold stripe symbolizes the sun and the golden sands of the beaches.

Pointing from the hoist is a black equilateral triangle, a powerful symbol representing the unity, vigor, and determination of the Bahamian people. It signifies their collective strength as they move “Forward, Upward, Onward, Together,” which is the national motto. It’s a flag that perfectly captures the beauty and spirit of this incredible island nation.
