✍️  The Design: The flag of Puerto Rico is a banner of immense pride, passion, and resilience, flown as a powerful symbol of Boricua identity around the globe. Its design, first imagined in 1895, tells the story of a people’s fight for their homeland.

The three red stripes honor the blood of brave warriors, while the two white stripes represent the victory and peace they hoped to achieve. The single white star, set in a bold triangle, shines as a symbol of the island itself—a unique and beautiful beacon in the Caribbean.

The blue triangle stands for the island’s coastal waters and vast sky, as well as the three branches of its government. It’s a flag that carries deep meaning in every stripe and star, representing more than a century of history, culture, and the unbreakable spirit of the Puerto Rican people.
